RAIL PASSENGERS are facing delays this morning due to signalling problems on the main line between London Liverpool Street and Diss.

A signalling problem between Stowmarket and Diss has caused delays on the line, with some services terminating earlier than planned.

This problem is causing trains to be delayed by up to 15 minutes, however Greater Anglia is also reporting disruption between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street.

The latter has been caused by over-running engineering works and has left some lines blocked.

Services passing these stations could face delays of up to 60 minutes.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Suffolk police said there were no major delays on the roads.

  • I expect Antia Curtis decided to drive and is still stuck in a traffic jam on the A12 trying to claim compensation from a driver who fell ill at the wheel of their car

  • Anita Curtis, who sends us updates for the commuter diary, has been away. Normal service will resume shortly. Natalie Hoodless, Digital Publisher

  • Of course I wouldn't wish to blame Greater Anglia for Network Rails errors. There is plenty else to blame Greater Anglia for, like not knowing how to react, telling people trains are cancelled and then running them, cancelling trains but still showing them as running, keeping staff and customers alike totally in the dark...and plenty else besides. But why should GA worry, they get full compensation from Network Rail...so why shouldn't I and others get some compensation also? The whole thing was yet another shambles with hundreds of people inconvenienced, stressed, late and totally fed up...but of course Greater Anglia are squeaky clean...ha ha! Incidentally whats happened to the Commuters Blog? After 2 days has she lost hope. Hope she hasn't been away, she'd have missed chaos on at least 2 of the last 4 working days?
