Travel: Rail services suspended all day between Marks Tey and Sudbury

Buses will replace rail services between Mark Tey and Sudbury today while repairs are carried out on trains, including one damaged in a fatal accident last week.
Greater Anglia has suspended all rail services along the line, which calls at Chappel and Wakes Colne and Bures, until tomorrow morning.
The operator said the suspension had been carried out to repair trains damaged in a fatal accident last week and during the flooding earlier this winter.
“This is in addition to the ongoing refurbishment of one of our Class 156 trains as part of the planned upgrade which is continuing for these trains,” a spokesman for the company added.
“Abellio Greater Anglia would like to apologise to our customers affected by these alterations, and for the inconvenience this may cause.
“We would like to assure passengers that we are doing everything possible to complete the necessary repairs to these trains as quickly as we can.”
The buses will depart from Marks Tey and Sudbury at the booked train departure times,
Journey times between Marks Tey and Sudbury will be around 39 minutes, between Marks Tey and Chappel and Wakes Colne 13 minutes, between Chappel and Wakes Colne and Bures 11 minutes and between Bures and Sudbury 16 minutes.
