The family of a 29-year-old man who died after he was struck by a car in Braintree say he was a ‘great friend to anyone who knew him’.

Ryan Lynch, from Braintree, was hit by a white Audi R8 which had mounted the pavement in South Street at around 3.30pm on Sunday, April 8. He died of his injuries on Sunday, April 15.

His parents Tony and Karen Lynch, said: “Ryan was a dearly loved son, brother, uncle, partner and truly was a great friend to anyone who knew him.

“He enjoyed travelling, keep fit, cycling, archery, cinema and anything to do with Star Wars and Marvel.

“We have not made any arrangements at this stage, regarding Ryan’s funeral.

“All his family members and friends will greatly miss Ryan very much.”

A 35-year-old man from Halstead and a 35-year-old man from Braintree were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and released under investigation.
