A man was taken to hospital last night following a crash which left him with minor head injuries.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Higham Road, Tuddenham, near Bury St Edmunds just before 12am.

Crews arrived to find a silver Dodge saloon in a field. The male driver was cut free from the vehicle before he was taken to West Suffolk Hospital at around 12.45am.

A police spokeswoman said he suffered a fractured wrist and minor head injuries.

In a separate incident, crews were called to a chimney fire in Cotton, near Stowmarket, at around 9.10pm yesterday.

The fire, in Mendlesham Road, was under control at around 9.40pm.

Crews also tackled chimney fires in Long Melford and Lowestoft yesterday evening.
