A crash on the A14 near the Orwell Bridge caused delays in the evening rush hour on Monday.

A silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Vauxhall Astra were involved in a collision westbound between a petrol station and the start of the bridge at around 5.20pm, blocking both lanes, police said.

There were no serious injuries and both vehicles had been towed away, allowing the road to be reopened fully, by 7.45pm.

Officers were directing traffic at the scene.

It was not known in what lane the collision took place.

Police said there were no arrests.
