FIRE crews have been at the scene of a garage on fire containing a large diesel tank.
Emergency services received a call to Barfield End Green, Thaxted at 10am today (Thursday December 20).
Firefighters used two hose reels and foam to tackle a blaze in a garage, measuring 20m x 10m, containing a large diesel tank.
Crews arrived at the scene to report the garage is “100%” alight and flames are said to be spilling over onto a thatched property nearby.
A water supply was found with a total of six crews at the scene including a water bowser and an incident command unit.
Firefighters contained the blaze to the garage and the fire was out by 11am.
