Update: Fire crews free pair of casualties after two-car collision in Newmarket

Two people have been cut out of vehicles following a crash on the B1061.
The fire service was called to the two-car collision at 6.02pm today with appliances from both Suffolk and Cambridgeshire attending.
Hydraulic cutting gear was used for roof removal to free the two casualties.
One was a man in his 70s who suffered serious chest and pelvic injuries. A second man suffered minor injuries.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance also attended the incident though both casualties were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance, the man in his 70s being escorted by a member of the air ambulance team.
The incident was concluded just before 7pm.
