A man whose home was hit by a car this evening has described the moment of the vehicle’s impact.
The Hyundai Getz crashed into the property in Nock Gardens at about 10.15pm and the male driver of the car, thought to be in his 20s, was treated for slight injuries by paramedics.
Keith Eller, whose house was hit, said his partner called fire and ambulance while he spoke to the driver.
“We were sat in the front room watching TV, all we heard was a big bang and a flash of light.
“Part of the wall is coming down. We’re waiting for a structural engineer to come along and explain to us exactly what sort of damage had been caused.
“He (the driver) was fairly shaken up, obviously quite upset, but no major injuries which is the main thing.”
A police spokesman said the house was being inspected as it is believed it has become structurally unsafe.
