Police, fire and ambulance services have been working at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in north Essex which left four people trapped.

The crash, in Walton Road between a Ford Focus and a Mazda RX-8, was reported to police at about 3.30pm.

One of the cars had also hit a wall in the incident. Firefighters have been trying to free the trapped occupants while police had closed the road.

A police spokesman said the occupants had not sustained life-threatening injuries.
