Rail commuters in Ipswich faced disruption earlier this evening due to signalling problems.

Services to London, Norwich, Cambridge and Felixstowe are now returning to a normal service after being delayed or cancelled at short notice.

The signalling problems in the Ipswich area were reported at around 4.15pm today, and fixed by engineers shortly after 5pm.

It comes after the Diss to Norwich line was subjected to long delays after a tree fell on to overhead power lines. The tree branch has been removed and delays and cancellations lasted until 5pm.
