Police officers had closed the A140 in Creeting St Mary between All Saints Road and B1078 Needham Road after the accident happened just before 8.30am but it was reopened at 12.55pm.

The crash involved a lorry carrying animal carcasses and a Vauxhall Corsa.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said: “We have got one female occupant with injuries that are not life-threatening or life-changing.

“She has been taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.”

She added: “The road is going to be closed for several hours as the lorry needs to be recovered but it has a load and that needs to be transferred beforehand.”
