A MAN has died after suffering a heart attack in Ipswich, police have said.
Paramedics and the air ambulance were called to Foxhall Road, close to the junction with Broadlands Way on Saturday.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said they were called at 1.07pm to assist paramedics and close the road to allow the Herts Air Ambulance to land.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports a man in his 60s had suffered a cardiac arrest.
“It is understood he could have fallen as well.”
The police spokesman confirmed the man had died.

The Air Ambulance crew responded magnificently to a very serious emergency. I would say this is exactly what the service is designed for. For the record it did not have to come from Herts. It wouldn't surprise me that those with negative comments would change their mind in an instant if one of their family was in need.

This was a major emergancy, the person the air ambulance was called for died in hospital.

Is this really what the air ambulance is designed for. The ambulance depot and hospital are a mile away from this incident surely it must have been cheaper to use a land ambulance to get to Ipswich Hospital before accessing whether an air ambulance is required. I only hope that the air ambulance didnt have to come from Herts to attend this incident. Is it me or does the air ambulance seem to be used more for normal incidents rather than major emergencies.
