A boy airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious head injuries in an accident involving a car yesterday is in a “critical condition” this morning.
Police were called to Framlingham Road, Easton, near Wickham Market, at around 4.05pm yesterday after the boy, believed to be 11 years old, was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus.
He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital after sustaining “potentially life-threatening serious head injuries”, a Suffolk police spokesman said.
The force said this morning the boy remained in a “critical condition”.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service yesterday said: “The casualty has multiple serious injuries and has been airlifted to hospital.
“He has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital as his injuries require treatment at a major trauma centre.”
Officers closed the road as medics carried out their work.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101.
