FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man trapped in flat after a blaze broke out.

A crew from Beccles and another from Bungay were called to reports of a flat fire at Honeypot Meadow in Bungay at 8am today.

A spokesman for the brigade said a man had been rescued from the property by 8.30am.

The fire was tackled using a hose reel jet.

The man was taken to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, to be treated for smoke inhalation.
