Drivers are being warned to expect delays on the A14 in the Ipswich area

Commuters driving on the A14 and to Ipswich were warned to expect congestion as lorries blocked key routes.

Just before 5.30am a lorry was reported to be stuck on the Orwell Bridge, Ipswich-bound. One lane of the road was blocked until a recovery team arrived at around 6.50am to pick-up the vehicle.

The slip road going on to the Copdock Interchange, from the Felixstowe-bound A14, was also blocked after a lorry broke down at around 6am.

This was cleared at around 7.15am. Police were aware of the problems and warned there were likely to be delays.
