Bomb disposal experts have exploded a Second World War device discovered by a family walking their dogs.
Police officers were alerted at 9.55am to Valley Road in Battisford near Needham Market.
A spokesman for the force said the caller described finding the nose of a Second World War bomb.
Officers alerted the Bomb Disposal Squad, who arrived on scene at 12.10pm.
A 100-metre cordon was erected around the explosive, which was discovered in the crook of a tree within a hedgerow beside a field.
Joe Lawrence, 36, from the village, was out walking his dogs with his family yesterday when they came across the device.
After researching what he had found online, Mr Lawrence alerted police officers.
The bomb was detonated at around 1.15pm.
An eyewitness described hearing a “loud bang”.
