  • Here we go again. We have a little snow and allot of schools close. When I was a child we had to walk a few miles in fairly deep snow.I never ever heard of any schools closing.Understandable I suppose if a boiler breaks down or burst pipes. Our schools never had central heating only an open fire with a huge fire guard around it ..The fuss made today is quite ridiculous. My parents never had cars to ferry us around. Today it seems mums will only ferry them backwards and forwards weather permitting in there cars.

  • Or is it the teachers who unlike other professions can't seem to make it in to work when it snows? I'm sure their neighbours in other jobs manage to walk, bus or train their way into work if they don't fancy the thought of driving to work.
