Valentine's Day

St Valentine’s Day has been associated with love and romance since the middle ages, with cards, confectionery and flowers first sent in the 15th century.

In the UK, just under half of the population spend money on their Valentine on February 14, sending cards, flowers, gifts or treating them to a romantic meal.

Each year, around £1.3 billion is spent on Valentine’s Day and an estimated 25 million cards are sent by loved ones or admirers who have yet to reveal their identity.
