Children across Suffolk hunted down some sweet treats and took part in festive fun, as events around the county marked the Easter holiday.

In Woodbridge, crowds of youngsters descended on Elmhurst Park to get their hands on one of 500 chocolate eggs donated by the East of England Co-Op.

The popular event, organised by Choose Woodbridge, was the ninth of its kind to be held in the town. Open to children under 14, the challenge was to find hidden beans and swap them for chocolate eggs.

Another collection of eager young egg hunters went along with their families to the Ufford Crown, just outside Woodbridge, where chocolate treats were craftily hidden around the pub garden. Afterwards, there was a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Proceeds collected from admission to the event will be donated to the Ufford play park fund.

There was more scouring for Easter eggs in Yoxford, near Saxmundham, where children under 12 searched the length and breadth of Yoxford Field high for a chocolate feast. Some even grabbed an extra chocolate prize in the best dressed bunny and best Easter bonnet contests.

Elsewhere, little bookworms took part in an Eggstreme Reading Challenge at Wickham Market Library, where young readers were awarded for their abilities with more tasty eggs.

From a small one-off gig in memory of a friend, a Suffolk festival has now celebrated their 10th event with a star-studded lineup and their biggest ever turnout.

Inspired by tragic loss, heartfelt thanks or loved ones gone too soon - nearly 200 brave souls overcame their nerves at the weekend in appreciation of Suffolk’s largest hospital.
