These are the scenes of devastation left behind after an explosion ripped through a street in Clacton this morning.

A house was raised to the ground by the explosion, and half of the neighbouring property in Cloes Lane was blown away.

Nine people were injured, with one person fighting for their life.

It is thought a domestic gas fire was the cause of the explosion.
