This year’s Tiptree Strawberry Race at the Wilkin and Sons farm had an Alice in Wonderland theme with people dressed as everyone from Alice and the Mad Hatter to the Queen of Hearts.

Pickers including local residents, regular seasonal workers and even some entrants from overseas, all rushed to collect as many Little Scarlet strawberries as they could within the 60 minutes.

After the event this morning all those taking part enjoyed a Hatter’s tea.
