A SPRINGER spaniel had a lucky escape after becoming stranded on a seafront cliff face.
A team of rescuers had to be called into action to help Buddy, who had found himself in peril on the coast at Walton on the Naze.
The drama unfolded at about 3.15pm on Saturday afternoon and Buddy’s owners asked for the help of the emergency services.
The Walton Coastguard Team and crews form the town’s fire station used special cliff rescue equipment to reach the hound, who had fallen about 10ft onto the cliff face.
He was helped to safety and was unhurt from his ordeal.
