A ROAD has been closed following a serious collision between two vehicles.

Police were alerted to the collision on Woodbridge Road in Wantisden at 4.25pm today.

The collision involved a silver Ford Mondeo and a blue Ford Escort.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews from Woodbridge and Aldeburgh attended the scene along with a rescue vehicle from Leiston.

Crews removed the roof of one of the vehicles and awaited arrival of an ambulance before moving the casualty by spinal board.

A spokesman for the police said a motorist had suffered serious leg injuries in the crash and that an air ambulance had taken him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
