When Andrea Pisani completed her second London Marathon she said “never again”.

But she is hoping to make it a hat-trick of marathon finishes when she takes part in this year’s 26.2-mile challenge on April 13.

She is running in aid of West Mersea-based charity The Catherine Bullen Foundation, which was set up by Roger and Linda Bullen in memory of their medical student 22-year-old daughter after she died during a trip to Africa in 2002.

Miss Pisani, who works in Colchester, said: “I am very pleased to run for the foundation again as I know that every penny I raise will go to its current project to provide a kitchen and covered searing area for the children at Eiseb Primary School Hostel in eastern Namibia.

“This will provide a hygienic environment for the preparation and consumption of meals.”

She is hoping to better her personal best marathon time of four hours 12 minutes.
