Students from West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds who sold Remembrance poppies in two supermarkets were presented with thank you certificates.
The students, from the public services course, were each given a certificate from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Pip Davies, Bury St Edmunds Poppy Appeal organiser, said: “The students were very smart and very polite. Members of the public and other volunteers commented on them.”
Mary Steeden, public services lecturer, said: “I am incredibly proud of this year’s Year 1 cohort who embraced the opportunity with huge amounts of respect, maturity and responsibility.”
Cassius Prodromou, 16, from Bury St Edmunds, who was one of the poppy sellers, said: “People were very impressed that we were so young and involved. They were very generous and they talked to us.”
Public services students also laid a wreath when they attended a ceremony at the South African memorial on the Buttermarket in Bury.
