Mary Steeden, public services lecturer, said: “I am incredibly proud of this year’s Year 1 cohort who embraced the opportunity with huge amounts of respect, maturity and responsibility.”

Cassius Prodromou, 16, from Bury St Edmunds, who was one of the poppy sellers, said: “People were very impressed that we were so young and involved. They were very generous and they talked to us.”
