The annual event saw 1,020 women take part last year, raising more than £115,000 for the hospice, which supports people in west Suffolk and Thetford.

Rachael Leeves, 28, from Bury St Edmunds, has helped launch this year’s fundraiser - taking place on September 13 - after losing her dad John Leaves, who had pancreatic cancer, in June and taking part in the walk in September. Mr Leaves and his family were supported by the hospice.

Participants of the moonlight walk wear nightwear and flashing bunny ears while walking 11.2 or six miles around Bury. To sign up visit www.stnicholashospicecare.org.uk or pick up a form at any of the hospice’s shops.
