A 19-YEAR-OLD man has received a 10-year sentence after he was found guilty of GBH with intent, following an incident in Clacton last year.

Charlie Ainscough, originally from Witham, but who was living in Clacton, was sentenced for GBH with intent and possessing an offensive weapon following his trial that concluded on January 22 at Chelmsford Crown Court.

The incident occurred in the afternoon of July 24, 2012 in Langham Drive, Clacton when the 24-year-old victim from Clacton received very serious hand and chest injuries caused by a knife.

Dc Claire March, Clacton CID said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked assault following a petty argument between other people.

“Ainscough forced his way into the property and assaulted his victim in front of his partner and her children and could have killed him.

“Police will always thoroughly investigate and prosecute those who carry and use knives.

“Ainscough will now have a long time to reflect upon the consequences of his actions that afternoon.”
