A 29-year-old woman has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a shooting in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at 6.45pm on August 4 to reports that a man had been shot in the stomach at an address in Forum Court. The victim, aged in his thirties, was successfully treated in hospital for his injuries.

Officers today re-arrested Rebecca Deferia, of Carnation Way, Red Lodge, in connection with the shooting and she was brought into custody where she was re-interviewed before being charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

She is now being detained in custody overnight and will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

Officers made a number of arrests and five men have previously been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Simon Webber, aged 31, of Sydenham Close, Bridgwater, Somerset; Frank Warren, aged 51, of Victoria Road, Dorchester; Andrew Seaton, aged 40, of Frome View, Maiden Newton, Dorchester; Paul Baker, aged 35, of Neils View, Maiden Newton, Dorchester, and 59-year-old Colin Deferia, of Battisford Road, Barking, Suffolk, have all entered not guilty pleas and they remain in custody pending a trial due to begin at Ipswich Crown Court on April 11, 2016.

A second woman, who is now 60 years old, who was arrested on August 5, remains on police bail until January 21, 2016.
