A dog walker was bitten on her hand when trying to separate her pet and another at a Suffolk park.

Police are investigating and are calling for witnesses to come forward after the incident in Rectory Lane, Worlingham.

The victim was walking her cocker spaniel with her son when she was approached by a woman walking two dogs between 7.30am and 8.30am on Monday.

She asked the woman if one of the dogs was friendly, at which point it grabbed the cocker spaniel in its mouth and started to shake it.

The victim kicked the offending dog to try to stop it and was bitten on the finger. Police have traced the owner of the other dogs and are investigating the incident. Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen what happened.
