Yoxford: Crash lorry is removed in early hours A12 recovery operation

A lorry which ended up in a field alongside the A12 after a collision with a car has been successfully removed today.
Police closed the road at around 2am for recovery teams to work at the crash scene just south of Yoxford.
Diversions were put in place with recovery expected to take several hours. Motorists were advised to avoid the area or take alternative routes.
A police spokeswoman said the recovery had been a success and the area was now all clear.
A 45-year-old car driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital following the collision involving his grey Peugeot and the red and white Scania lorry.
The man remains in hospital and his condition is described as being “critical but stable”.
Police said the crash happened at 1.15pm on Thursday on the northbound carriageway of the A12.
The lorry spilled sand and shingle across the carriageway. The driver was uninjured.
