Police closed the road at around 2am for recovery teams to work at the crash scene just south of Yoxford.

A police spokeswoman said the recovery had been a success and the area was now all clear.

The man remains in hospital and his condition is described as being “critical but stable”.

Police said the crash happened at 1.15pm on Thursday on the northbound carriageway of the A12.
