DOMINIC Samuel has returned to Reading following his loan spell at Colchester United.

U’s boss Joe Dunne revealed this morning that the 18-year-old striker had returned to the Madejski Stadium, after making two appearances for the U’s, the defeats by Doncaster and Scunthorpe.

The arrival of Jabo Ibehre last week has given Dunne more options up front, in addition to Clinton Morrison and Freddie Sears.

Samuel was an unused substitute during Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Walsall.

Dunne confirmed: “Dominic (Samuel) has returned to Reading. They recalled him on Monday.

“He played against Doncaster, and he played the first-half against Scunthorpe, after which I made a tactical change.

“He was going to start at Hartlepool (postponed game), and he was going to start against Walsall as well, but I then signed David Wright and so went with a different formation.

“Dominic is going to be a good player, and he has a good future, but I just needed a bit more experience in the team,” added Dunne.
