COLCHESTER United boss Joe Dunne has been nominated for the League One manager of the month award, for October.

And midfielder Craig Eastmond has likewise been named on the shortlist for player of the month.

The winners will be announced this Friday.

October was Dunne’s first full month in charge of the U’s, and he masterminded four league wins out for six during the month.

The other manager nominations are Oldham Athletic’s Paul Dickov, and Sheffield United’s Danny Wilson.

Wilson is probably the favourite, with his high-flying Blades side taking 16 points out of a possible 18 during October.

On the pitch, Arsenal loanee Eastmond has pulled the strings for the U’s in midfield.

The other League One player of the month nominations are Sheffield United keeper George Long and Oldham striker Jose Baxter.
