Ipswich Town’s East Anglian rivals, Norwich City, are interested in former Blues striker Daryl Murphy, according to rumours online.
Murphy (34) left Town for Newcastle last August in a deal worth an initial £3m, but has been told he has no future at the newly-promoted Premier League club.
The Republic of Ireland international scored 61 times in 207 games for the Blues, netting 27 times during the Blues’ run to the play-off semi-finals in the 2014-15 season.
Town are due to play Norwich on Sunday, November 22, at Portman Road, and on Sunday, February 18, at Carrow Road.
The Twitter account behind the rumour, @Official_T40 is a verified account with over 20,000 followers, while its website gets over four million views a month.
