Hyam and Murray both sign

THE Ipswich Town duo of Luke Hyam and Ronan Murray have both signed new one-year deals.

THE Ipswich Town duo of Luke Hyam and Ronan Murray have both signed new one-year deals.

Midfielder Hyam and front-runner Murray both put pen to paper this afternoon, with their current contracts set to expire this summer.

Hyam was a regular in the Town starting line-up during the first couple of months of the season, as a holding midfielder, although he has not made an appearance since the home defeat by Barnsley last November.

Murray, meanwhile, was recalled from a loan stay at League Two play-off hopefuls Torquay United over the weekend, and was on the bench for the 4-1 defeat at Swansea on Easter Monday, as was Hyam.

  • I am pleased that both players have signed and hopefully they will get there chance in the last two remaining games. Luke Hyam looked really good early part of the season and really never got any more chances under RK. Murray looked sharp and was a menace when he came on against Watford . Good luck to both of them for next season COYB

  • I am pleased with this because both players need more time as does Shane O'connor in my view.

  • Its all very well signing for town (god knows why) but will jewell ever play them? He much prefers players over 30 as has been proven so far. I beg the question, is jewell the man for the job? Im sorry to say - no!

  • Rob and Ged - you're clearly both either closet Budgies, or Budgie trolls. There is no negative angle you can't find (however small) or invent, and shoehorn into your comments!

  • Signing playerssuch as Hyam on one year deals is surely an indication of Town's desperate financial straights.... lack of faith... or both.
