Bartosz Bialkowski

Was given a huge ovation before kick-off following his call-up by Poland yesterday and did everything that was asked of him as he kept another clean sheet. Good footwork, good under high balls and held shots that came his way. Would have been relieved to see James Wilson’s shot come off the post. 7

Dominic Iorfa

Became an outlet for long balls as the Blues focussed their play down the right flank before he was replaced at the break. Has cut out the mistakes but still gets caught positionally on occasions. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Was playing against the side he represented during the first half of the campaign and, not for the first time, was the Blues’ stand-out player. The Tottenham youngster showed just why Mick McCarthy would like to be at the front of the queue to retain him for next season as he once again read the game superbly, was positionally excellent and looked as composed as any Ipswich player on the ball. 8

Luke Chambers

Survived two penalty appeals, one following an incredibly soft ‘bump’ on Billy Sharp and another after a tangle with Ched Evans which seemed to have a little more merit. Defended well again as the visitors’ began to exert more pressure in the second period. 6

Adam Webster

The defender produced a number of superb long balls but also a few which he would have liked back. Did his defensive work well, looking after Sharp and Evans and looked to step out from the back. 7

Myles Kenlock

A rare start for a young player who has proved himself to be a capable Championship performer. He did little wrong following a bright start, but with the majority of the play going down the right side with Iorfa on the pitch, he saw little involvement. Saw more of the ball after the break. 6

Cole Skuse

Got the crowd off their feet as he intercepted the ball on halfway and began to stride forwards into enemy territory as the Blues found themselves in a two-on-two attack. His ball to Waghorn didn’t find its target and that probably sums up the Blues’ afternoon. 6

Callum Connolly

A long way from the high standards he has set himself during his time with the Blues. The Everton loanee battled away as he always does but lacked any real composure on the ball and was as guilty as anyone of knocking it long when it needed a foot on the ball. In need of a rest. 5

Stephen Gleeson

His first involvement since the draw at Norwich and a difficult afternoon for the Irishman. His game requires him to put his foot on the ball and move it to team-mates, but the on-pitch conditions were such that this became hugely difficult. His passing was loose and his positioning was at times questionable. 4

Bersant Celina

Looked hugely motivated as he tore around the pitch with intent during the first 10 minutes but, as the game became more and more scrappy, he found the going tough. He was never able to run at defenders and, when he did, it just didn’t come off. It wasn’t his day. 5

Martyn Waghorn

Ploughed a loan furrow up front as Celina worked off him and did manage some decent touches as he occupied and harried the Blades defence. Having won the game for his side on Tuesday night, he wasn’t able to help beat the other half of Sheffield. 6

Jordan Spence (for Iorfa 46)

Struggled to get up to the pace of the game as he was caught out of position, found it hard to keep the ball and was unable to get forward before being replaced as McCarthy shuffled his pack. 4

Luke Hyam (for Connolly 60)

Like the rest of the midfield before him, Hyam was unable to assert any kind of dominance on the game and wasn’t able to create for his side. Did put in some good tackles, though. 6

Joe Garner (for Spence 81)

Came on to try and win the game for the Blues but, sadly, his biggest impact was a good tackle in his own left-back position. 6
