Ipswich Town made one signing and sold one established player on transfer deadline day.

Ipswich Town will complete the signing of Accrington Stanley striker Kayden Jackson and could still land Josh Windass of Rangers on what could potentially be a busy transfer deadline day for the Blues.

The window for permanent signings closes at 5pm today, with Jackson’s transfer likely to be confirmed this morning after he arrived in Suffolk yesterday.

The Blues have agreed an initial £1.6m move for the 24-year-old, potentially worth up to £2million with add-ons, with personal terms now agreed after he made it clear Ipswich was his preferred destination amid interest from QPR and Peterborough.

Jackson was undergoing the final stages of a medical last night, clearing the final hurdle before his transfer is complete.

Rangers forward Josh Windass remains a serious Ipswich target, with the Blues and Rangers thought to be close to agreeing a fee for the 24-year-old.

If a fee is agreed, Windass could undergo his medical in Glasgow before heading to Suffolk as the two clubs bid to beat the clock to get the deal over the line before 5pm.

It is not yet clear whether a move for Windass depends on Joe Garner leaving Portman Road.

Bolton has previously appeared the most likely destination for Garner, with manager Phil Parkinson admitting this week that he is still interested in the former Rangers man, although he is not the only striker the Trotters are interested in. Millwall and Sheffield United are also said to be interested.

Ipswich remain in the market for a central defender, too, after admitting defeat in their pursuit of Blackpool’s Curtis Tilt.

While a late move can not be discounted, given Paul Hurst has been tracking Tilt all summer, the Blues have found negotiations tough going and have moved on to other targets.

Defender Jonas Knudsen has been trailed by Stoke, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, as well as a number of clubs both at home and abroad throughout the summer and could also potentially move on today.

The Dane, who represented his country at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, is entering the final year of his deal at Portman Road with no talks yet regarding a new one.

The loan window remains open until the end of August.

Kayden Jackson is hoping his goal in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Brentford is the first of many as he continues to get to grips with the challenge of the Championship.

Paul Hurst doesn’t expect midfielder Teddy Bishop to be out for too long despite picking up a hamstring injury but Jon Walters is now a doubt for Saturday’s game with Bolton.
