Ipswich Town targets may sit tight until summer

IPSWICH Town are unlikely to make any moves for Wolves duo Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Ronald Zubar, before the end of the January transfer window, writes Chris Brammer.

Right-back, Zubar and striker, Ebanks-Blake, are both out of contract at Molineux in the summer and have been linked with former boss Mick McCarthy.

However, it is thought both players are happy to sit tight until the end of the current campaign, and command a bigger signing-on fee should they then move clubs.

Zubar was made available for transfer by former boss Stale Solbakken, but has started both games under new boss, Saunders.

Sources close to the player have suggested Zubar’s inclusion in the team could hasten the Frenchman’s departure, with the west Midlands club keen to receive a fee for the Frenchman during the current transfer window.

Elsewhere, another possible Ipswich target, Watford’s Mark Yeates, may be allowed to leave Vicarage Road.

The 28-year-old former Colchester winger, is out of contract in the summer and has not started a game for the play-off-chasing Hornets in six weeks.

Boss, Gianfranco Zola is still thought to be a big admirer of the former Republic of Ireland under-21 international, but his hand may be forced by Yeates who has fell down the pecking order at the Hertfordshire club.
