JASON Scotland has signed a short-term contract at struggling Championship club Barnsley, just days after being released by Ipswich Town.
Having dropped down the pecking order at the Blues, an agreement was reached between club and player to prematurely cut short the final few months of the 33-year-old striker’s contract at the club.
The former Trinidad and Tobago international has signed a short-term deal at second-from-bottom Barnsley – a side just seven points below Town, with the Yorkshire club having a game in hand.
He said: “I’m looking forward to getting back to playing football. Everyone is really positive here. I’m going to try and bring more goals to this team.”
Meanwhile, the EADT understands that League Two side Northampton Town have made a loan approach for Blues winger Josh Carson.

Strange how Scotland was a perpetual goal scorer before he came to town then at town could hardly score a goal!!! Just goes to show what a bad club town have become under evans and his 3 clown managers!!!

Enjoyed watching Jason play for Town but unfortunately his lack of games lately means that he is not as sharp as he once was, if I remember rightly it took quite a few games after he arrived before he got going. Just bet he scores on his debut though! Good Luck Jason.

Oh great, by releasing him we have no control over where he goes so he signs for a rival and could potentially score the goal that sends us down

That's the way to do it - get rid of another couple of our own players - to make room for yet another gaggle of loanees. Loanees who either do no better than what we've got or do OK & return to their real clubs !!!!!!!
