Suffolk school teams aim for cup progress

THREE school football teams are through to round five of the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) National Cup.

Farlingaye High School’s year 8 and sixth-form teams have both made the last 64 as have St Alban’s Catholic High’s year 11 team.

The sixth-form team are in action today as they bid to reach the next round, hosting Westcliffe High School, from Southend-on-Sea.

The Woodbridge-based school’s year 8s then play next Tuesday away at Stanway High School.

As for Ipswich-based school St Alban’s, they also play today at home to Chelmer Valley.

St Alban’s are coached by Craig Tournay-Godfrey, while both Farlingaye teams are coached by Kieran Payne.
