IPSWICH Town manager Paul Jewell has confirmed that his recent trio of triallists will not be joining the club.

The Blues boss revealed he was impressed by Czech goalkeeper Marian Kello – released by Hearts at the end of last season – following his appearances in two pre-season games in Holland last week.

However, the 29-year-old will not be coming to Portman Road on a permanent basis, with Jewell revealing: “I was quite impressed with him, but I think he’s got another offer to go and play guaranteed first team football.”

French left-sided duo Soualio Bakayoko and Plaisir Bahamboula also featured in Holland, with left-back Bakayoko also playing Tuesday night’s friendly at Braintree, while winger Bahamboula missed the game through injury.

Jewell said: “We haven’t kept any of the traillists. They came and showed great attitude, but at the moment we’re not taking them on.”

Meanwhile, the Blues continue to battle red-tape regarding the signing of French-Guinea born midfielder Cheick Kourouma. The 19-year-old has been training with the Blues all summer after impressing on trial at the end of last season and showed some promise in Tuesday night’s game at Braintree.

Town are having to contact all of the teams the free agent has played for since the age of 12 though to ensure that no surprise compensation fees come their way. Former clubs of his include Sochaux (France), Real Sociedad (Spain) and Genoa (Italy).
