A Suffolk choir is to perform a specially selected repertoire to complement the acoustics of a grand medieval church.
Suffolk Singers next local concert will be at St Mary’s Church in Hadleigh raising funds for its upkeep.
A choir spokesman said the varied programme will comprise “rousing anthems”, works by contemporary composers and “well loved spiritual songs”.
Led by Claire Weston, a former singer with the English Opera, Suffolk Singers are said to have become “one of the most accomplished choirs in the country”. The group has won awards, performed in international competitions, and regularly leads concerts in churches and cathedrals across East Anglia.
In May the choir will perform for the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.
The Hadleigh concert is from 7.30pm on Saturday, June 30. Tickets are available online at WeGotTickets or by calling 01473 311240.
