The full first team squad, including former England captain Alastair Cook, went along to the Cloudfm headquarters in Colchester where they met with the staff – and pitted their skills against a cricket simulator.

Jeff Dewing, Cloudfm’s chief executive, said: “We were delighted to welcome the Essex cricket team to our offices. It was a fantastic opportunity for our staff to meet the players and learn more about what the team are working to achieve, and how that aligns with our own vision.”

Tom Westley, Essex County Cricket Club vice captain, said: “With two games played so far this season and a busy fixture schedule approaching, it was great to take some time out after training to come and visit the Cloudfm offices in Colchester.

“It’s great to meet the staff who have really embraced the new partnership and are hopefully all keen Essex fans after our visit.”

Head coach Chris Silverwood added: “It is always important to bring the squad closer to the club’s sponsors, so it was a pleasure to be invited to Cloudfm’s offices and meet everyone behind the scenes.

“The support that the team have received so far has been brilliant and it does make a real difference to performances on the pitch.

“The event was a great opportunity for the squad to engage with Cloudfm employees and hopefully we will see them down at The Cloudfm County Ground throughout the season.”
