A new Aviation Training International Limited (ATIL) facility has been completed at Wattisham Flying Station, near Stowmarket.
ATIL, based in Dorset, has three purpose-built training centres, including at Middle Wallop and Arborfield, and is a 50:50 joint venture company between The Boeing Company and AgustaWestland.
It has a 20-year contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and each facility provides students with the opportunity to familiarise themselvs with some of the most advanced technology in the world using simulators.
Newark based building contractors Jessops Construction Limited handed over the steel-framed building after completing it within 30 weeks.
Murray Lyle, of Jessops, said: “We have enjoyed working on this unique project, it is always a pleasure adding diversity to our existing portfolio.”
