Despite being Suffolk born, Emily Mortimer has worked in the jewellery industry in London for over 5 years and creates beautiful statement pieces that are versatile and exciting to wear.

This year, she will be returning to the Suffolk Show and to the glamorous, pink carpeted Fifth Avenue, to exhibit her designs.

“I am so excited about the Suffolk Show,” says Emily. “This is my second year, but I was a steward for three years previous so when I started my business in 2015, having my own stand was the obvious next step.

“The Suffolk show is my local show. It is amazing for shopping, meeting new customers and catching up with old customers and friends. Compared to other shows Fifth Avenue always looks fabulous because of the amazing pink carpet and the great selection of different brands. There is always such a great atmosphere.”

The Suffolk Show is a platform for all that is local in the world of food, drink, agriculture, sports, entertainment and fashion. It allows designers, among other companies, brands and groups to share what they do, with an audience that is proud of its county.

One individual who is most proud of the fashion area of the show is steward Angie Ashby-Hoare. She says: “It is lovely showcasing amazing talent from the county. Many of the Suffolk girls exhibiting, including Emily, are only in their twenties but have set up and now run their own businesses.”

Emily adds: “It is very important to me to do at least one local show a year. You mustn’t forget where you started and who supported you from the very beginning. All those customers who initially had their first Emily Mortimer piece now want their second.”

Originally training at Sir John Cass School of Art, before going on to gain a Gemmological Association qualification, Emily has always had a love for jewellery. This passion has helped create the range of 18ct yellow gold and sterling silver pieces, each set with a multitude of different colour semi-precious gemstones and diamonds, which she will be exhibiting at the show.

“I will be bringing my four collections - Aqua, Echo, Electra and Wanderlust – to the show, which will include new pieces and colour combinations. I have a new collection currently being made, so I am just hoping it might be ready in time too.”

With such beautiful rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and cufflinks being designed, which are already loved by popular celebrities and well known names, the future of Emily Mortimer Jewellery looks promising.

“Lottie Moss and Binky Felstead have both been spotted wearing Emily Mortimer Jewellery and looking amazing in it and Laura Wright has also been wearing various pieces whilst singing at the rugby,” continues Emily. “It makes me feel so happy to see stylish, beautiful girls wearing and enjoying my jewellery, as that is the whole reason I started.”

Emily has also just taken part in a ‘Meet the Designer’ pop up at Fenwick’s in Colchester and launched her range of jewellery on Jewelstreet, which sells to shoppers across the world.

“At the moment I just take every opportunity as it comes, but I am very excited to be part of The Spirit Shows and also Stylist Live, which are both at Olympia, London this year.”
