Food producers across East Anglia are celebrating their successes after scooping prestigious food awards.
The Great Taste Awards 2017 handed 278 East Anglia-based food and drink businesses a star rating.
The products were either given a one, two or three star - three being the highest.
Essex-based Handmade by Hadley’s were awarded an impressive 14 taste awards.
Two of those were three stars - their elderflower and lime ice cream and Jamaican mocca hot chocolate.
Jane Hadley, manager of Handmade by Hadley’s, was thrilled with the win.
She said: “It is amazing news, we are all very proud. We are a very small team with only myself, Ann and Dawn who make the ice cream daily.
“We use fresh milk and cream from Fen Farm Dairy in Bungay and we strive to make quality ice cream and sorbet.
“These awards have been a great pat on the back.”
Suffolk-based sausage makers Powters received an impressive four awards from Great Taste, three one stars and one two star rating.
Their Newmarket, Tipsy, Chilli products were the one star winners and their Pigolatas secured them a two star.
Grant Powter, managing director at Powters, said: “We are delighted that we have won four Great Taste Awards for our sausages, not just because it means that our famous Newmarket Sausage is as popular now as it was in my great-grandfather’s day – in fact much more so, but also because some of our newer recipes won too.
“Our Chilli Pig sausage with its spicy Spanish kick and our Tipsy Pig sausage with its cheeky splash of Greene King’s local Abbot Ale both won awards for ‘simply delicious’ flavour!”
Tristian Powter, the company’s marketing director, added: “To be a multi-Great Taste winner is an absolute privilege and I am confident this accolade will add value and credibility to our brand as well as open doors to new retailers and strengthen our offering to existing.
“The Powter family has been making sausages using our secret recipe since 1881 and have a real passion for what we do so winning four Great Taste awards is a great compliment and attribute to the consistent precision and innovation our team puts into our brand.”

Suffolk condiment maker Scarlett & Mustard are very pleased with their 2 star award on their brand new raspberry flavoured curd and their 1 star award on their hot and spicy tomato Salsa.

“Taste is everything in our business, and to have another 5 awards from the Guild of Fine Food is fantastic. Our customers set great store by Great Taste, and to have that badge of honour helps us get our brand out there to the rest of the world.
“We are especially delighted with the 2 Star award for our new curd, Raspberry, which will hit the shelves soon, and our Hot & Spicy Tomato Salsa gets 1 Star – this is available in the East of England Co-op.”
