The Big Draw & Arts Festival, Wickham Market High Street

Join almost half a million people across the country taking part in The Big Draw this weekend with this year’s theme ‘Living Lines’.
This free event held in the centre of Wickham Market is perfect for those experienced and inexperienced artists.
There will be a range of drawing workshops and exhibitions celebrating Suffolk’s fantastic history of art across the day.

Fright Night, Colchester Zoo

The brilliant Colchester Zoo will be keeping its doors open until 9.30pm for a Fright Night for those who dare to stay after dark.
There will be special late night attractions to get your hairs standing on end, along with great lighting effects around the zoo.
Fright Nights will take place on October 21, 24, 26, 28 and 31, and access to the park is included in the standard admission price.

Inspire Suffolk Family Shopping Day, Ipswich

Have a day of shopping with the family at Inspire Suffolk while supporting local businesses and the great work Inspire does for young people.
While you are there you will be able to enjoy a range of refreshments and look through the number of local business and stores.
There will also be entertainment for the little ones, such as sports activities and balloon modelling.

Family Medieval Harvest Weekend, Cressing Temple

Get a taste of life between the fifth and 15th Century this weekend as you witness Medieval re-enactors and much more.
The whole family will be able to learn all about the food during the historic era, as well as lifestyle and the type of entertainment at the time.
Visitors can get stuck in with the re-enactors and help them work on small craft projects for a small donation.

Calling all witches and wizards this October half term, get on your broomsticks and fly to the Tudor mansion for a magical experience.
Take your children for a morning or afternoon to make their own wands, meet magnificent birds of prey, and watch The Great Edmundo’s magic show.
They can also attend potion class and test their broomstick skills around their own obstacle course.

October Vintage & Makers Market, Snape Maltings

Deben Events will be holding their final Vintage & Makers market of the year on Sunday, so make sure you don’t miss out.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings Snape Maltings while browsing through a large range of stalls with one-off vintage treasures, artisan crafts, antique furniture, delicious local food and drink and much more.

The Long Shop Museum Final Fling, Leiston

It is the end of the season and The Long Shop Museum will once again be ending it with a celebration of everything steam.
The annual activity day is perfect for the entire family, who will be able to enjoy the fascinating full size and miniature engines being demonstrated in their working glory.
The museum’s own 1923 Garrett steamroller will be on show, as well as the famous Suffolk Punch horses, rides on the Sirapite shunting engine, activities for children and much more.
