A hit bottle shop and taproom is moving to Halesworth in the new year from its current home in Southwold.

Tom Sutton started YouDrink, a bottle shop selling the best of beers brewed locally, in Hopton near Great Yarmouth around two and a half years ago.

The company moved to Reydon near Southwold shortly after that and now it has been revealed that the company will be setting up shop in a larger site in Halesworth next year.

"We moved to Southwold when we realised that our customers were mainly based around Halesworth, Beccles and Lowestoft," said Mr Sutton.

"We're moving as we have now outgrown our unit and we want to be able to offer somewhere for customers to drink and sample the beers on-site."

The shop is set to open in January 2024 in the former Thoroughfare Deli site.

Mr Sutton has the keys to the new premises and has been making headway with the renovation, which has proven to be quite extensive.

"We have sorted the beer garden and have been doing a lot of painting and decorating," said Mr Sutton.

"We are trying to do it all in six weeks so that we can open in mid-January."

Mr Sutton has never run a taproom before but has lots of experience working in hospitality.

He started YouDrink to spotlight local breweries and craft brewers from the county.

"Around 75 per cent of our beers on offer are local to East Anglia," Mr Sutton said.

"We have got some more well-known craft beers available too.

"People like to support local and there are a lot of unknown brewers that need a platform like this."

YouDrink will open in Halesworth in January 2024, and Mr Sutton will post regular updates on the business's Facebook page.
