From some of the best fish and chips in the county to great restaurants, Aldeburgh has became a real destination hotspot for food and drink lovers.
Here are four reasons why the seaside town is fast becoming one of Suffolk's top destinations for foodies.
1. Great fish and chips
The town has a great reputation for its fresh seafood and its amazing fish and chip shops.
For freshly battered fish, head to the award-winning Aldeburgh Fish and Chip Shop or its sister property, The Golden Galleon, both in High Street.
But if it is fresh seafood you are after, head along to the wooden shacks at the seafront to buy the daily catch from local fishermen.
2. Award-winning restaurants
Not only does it cover the fish and chip department, but Aldeburgh also has amazing upmarket restaurants.
The Suffolk, which is owned by George Pell, boasts a seafood-focused menu and has been proven popular with not only locals but people visiting the area as well.
The restaurant, which has six uniquely-designed bedrooms to stay in, began as French pop-up restaurant L'Escargot Sur-Mer in 2020 before plans were finalised to make a permanent move to the site in 2021.
It was recently included in a list by Olive Magazine rounding up the best places in the UK to eat, drink and sleep.
There are also places such as The Lighthouse and the restaurant at the Brudenell Hotel.
3. Ice cream
Did you even go to the coast if you didn't get some ice cream?
People on the hunt for ice cream have a range of locations for the cold sweet treat, including Harris & James, The IceCreamery and Ive's Ice Cream Parlour.
4. Food and drink festival
The seaside town hosts a yearly food and drink festival which sees people travel for miles to come and visit.
The event is packed full of traders and cooking demonstrations, while last year MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Adam Spicer gave a talk on the main stage.
