A woodland plot featuring a former water pumping station has been sold at auction.
People had the chance to own a unique woodland plot of land, featuring a dilapidated water pumping station in Henstead, as it went under the hammer this week.
The plot of land "tucked away" at the end of a track was auctioned off on Wednesday, March 20.
Described as "a dilapidated former water pumping station set in a broadly rectangular parcel of amenity woodland" off Benacre Road in Henstead - between Beccles and Lowestoft - it was offered for sale at an online auction.
Marketed by Auction House East Anglia, and described as "land for sale", it was sold on a freehold tenure.
With a guide price of £30,000 to £50,000 plus fees, the freehold land off Benacre Road measures around 1.25 acres (0.5 ha).
Described as having "development potential subject to planning permission," the property description from the auctioneers stated: "A unique opportunity to purchase a dilapidated former water pumping station set in a broadly rectangular parcel of amenity woodland extending to around 1.25 acres.
"The land is accessed via an unmade track next to 1 Benacre Road and is in a tucked away location at the end of the track.
"The land is located less than three miles west of Kessingland and around seven miles north of Southwold.
"An interesting lot that may offer some potential, subject to any necessary consents."
A spokesman for Auction House East Anglia said the land off Benacre Road, Henstead "sold for £48,000."
