A woman from Bury St Edmunds who was caught exceeding the speed limits in a town in Wales has been ordered to pay out more than £700.
Rachel Joseph-Pierre, of Worcester Close in the west Suffolk town, was caught driving a Peugeot RCZ on the M4 in Newport on August 29 last year at a speed of 74mph.
She was charged with exceeding a 50mph speed limit on a motorway.
The M4 is a motorway that connects London to south-west Wales, and the junction in Newport where the incident took place it had a speed limit of 50mph at the time.
Joseph-Pierre was called to Newport Magistrates' Court where she was given a verdict through a single justice procedure, which typically deals with minor summary offences.
The 38-year-old was handed a fine of £440.
Additionally, she has to pay a victim surcharge of £176 and £90 in costs – taking her total charge to £706.
She has also been disqualified from holding a driving licence for the next six months and handed five points on it.
